Is is time for the grill yet?

Who has had enough of this flip flopping cold weather? In North Carolina one day its winter, the next day it is summer, the next week its winter again and then a little fall weather sprinkled in. Are we wearing coats, toboggin’s and gloves or a short sleeve shirt with flip flops?! Either way we like burgers! Outside or inside we are eating burgers at least once a week!

This recipe is quick and easy. They go great with of course burgers but also with BBQ, grilled or fried chicken and we even make deli sandwiches with them. They are definitely a crowd pleaser. I bake these weekly just to have on stand by for a quick meal.

The milk and butter make these buns so soft and moist. There isn’t a store bought bun with clean ingredients or taste and texture that comes close to these.

If you are low on time skip the first rise and go straight into shaping them. I can’t taste a difference honestly. Turns a 2 hour recipe into 1 1/2 hours or less!

Let me know what you think!

Enjoy, Stacia

Notes

  • May add 1 or 2 tbsp of honey for a sweeter bun
  • If in a hurry you can skip the first proof. Go right into shaping the buns after you mix it and let sit for 30 minutes while your oven gets to temp. Bake as usual.
  • Remove buns from cookie sheet after they have baked, it could lead to soggy bottoms!
  • I’ve also weighed my buns out at about 85 g to get more buns. The size is comparable to basic store bought buns.
